From footie to music...
Although he calls Denmark home now, Brandon Beal was born and raised in the small town of Tyler, Texas. Growing up, Brandon’s father was a priest, making the church an important part of Brandon´s childhood. His mother loved the songs of Marvin Gaye, Luther Vandross, Stevie Wonder and Michael Jackson. The musical taste of his parents inevitably influenced the aspiring musician. And after seeing his brother carve out a career as a successful songwriter, Brandon sold everything he had in a yard sale and bought a one-way ticket to New York.
Brandon soon released his first album, “Comfortable” in 2011 with his childhood friend, the Danish-American producer/musician, Multiman. This collaboration ultimately led Brandon to Denmark where he found his musical home. He began to work almost immediately with Danish DJ Rasmus Hedegaard, performing as Beal & Ras. He also collaborated closely with Lukas Graham on his phenomenally successful debut album, which was #1 on the album chart for 3 months and went quadruple platinum.
In 2014 after three years spent in Denmark, Brandon released the major hit single, “Twerk It Like Miley”. It was an instant smash #1 on the Danish chart and contributed toward Beal receiving a Danish Grammy for Club Act of the Year. Late in 2015 the single earned more than 120 millions view on YouTube and 60 million streams on Spotify.
In 2016 Brandon Beal won even more fans around the globe with his major single, “Golden” featuring Lukas Graham. It was an instant hit with 50 million streams on Spotify, went 3x Platinum in Denmark, Platinum in Norway, Gold in Sweden and it continues to grow across the globe. This later became one of the tracks on his second album “Truth”, released summer of 2016.
