Listen to 'Mama' ft William Singe
Born and raised in London, multi-instrumentalist Jonas Blue has so far taken the music industry by storm. A true dance vibe but with pop sensibilities, it’s clear to see that he has cleverly crafted a sound which fills the void that so many are craving for.
His debut release ‘Fast Car’ features the incredible young vocal talent, Dakota. The record itself is already a certified global smash. ‘Fast Car’ is currently the #1 selling British single of 2016 in the UK and 6th overall biggest selling single of the year in the UK. It has also received multi-platinum status across the world, now approaching 5 million records sold, with over 450 million streams across all platforms and the official video receiving 140 million YouTube streams.
The success continues across the iTunes Charts, including #1’s in several countries including the UK, Germany, Sweden, Australia and New Zealand. As well as reaching the #1 spot on the US viral chart on Spotify and the UK Top 200, Future Hits and Dance Shazam charts, ‘Fast Car’ charted at #2 in the UK, spent 11 consecutive weeks in the Top 10 Chart and was certified platinum in the UK. The record also gained 4-times platinum status in Sweden and The Netherlands, 3-times platinum status in Australia and Ireland, 2-times platinum status in Italy and Norway, platinum status in the UK, Finland, Canada and Denmark and Gold status in Germany, Belgium, Poland, South Africa and Brazil. His follow up single, ‘Perfect Strangers’ featuring the sublime vocals of JP Cooper, has followed suit.
The summer smash has been certified gold and has reached global sales of over a million – a milestone hit a month quicker than Jonas’ previous single ‘Fast Car’. Remaining in the Top 5 in the UK for a 6th consecutive week, ‘Perfect Strangers’ has amassed 3.2 million UK weekly streams, 330,000 daily UK plays, making the track #4 on the UK Spotify Chart. The record also gained #13 in the Global Spotify Chart with over 2.28 million daily plays, with a grand total surpassing 100 million global streams and has now sold over a million units globally. Elsewhere, the track has been certified platinum in Ireland and the Netherlands – gracing the #1 and #2 spots respectively, and is rapidly climbing up the Top 10 charts in Germany, Sweden, Portugal, New Zealand and Australia. Stateside, ‘Perfect Strangers’ has broken into the Spotify Top 50 and is set to storm up the charts once more.
As well as working on his own music, Jonas has remixed tracks for the likes of Birdy and Coldplay. On the road, his touring schedule has taken flight in a big way with Jonas already playing to huge crowds, from 100,000 people at the Azteca Stadium in Mexico City to taking the main stage at the legendary Webster Hall in New York City.
With that said and done, 2016 will continue to thrive for the London based producer who has already proven his worth in such a short period of time and across such a global scale. Currently making his mark on the White Isle with his spectacular sets at the renowned Ushuaia Club in Ibiza, this summer saw Jonas play to millions of people at some of Europe’s most illustrious festivals such as Tomorrowland and V Festival. With a set at Lollapalooza and a confirmed performance of ‘Perfect Strangers’ on The Xtra Factor next month, Jonas Blue is fully equipped and ready to launch himself into a lifelong career in music.
